Drupal+Melbourne: Lullabots, Mini-drupal-conference, DrupalCon? and more...

I just heard on the lullabot podcast #53 that lullabot is going to Melbourne to run training sessions in April 2008.

With the Drupal Mini Conf after Linux Conference Australia, and Lonely Planet launching their drupal development in Melbourne, it seems like Melbourne is shaping up to be the “Drupal Capital” of the Southern hemisphere.

Good place for a future DrupalCon?

Hell yeah!

Hell yeah!

yay!

Just listened to the podcast - very exciting!

They spoke about it being an opportunity for Australians, but I'm hoping that people will venture from Asia and NZ too.

Ooooh, I'd love to go to a Drupalcon in Australia. Can we crash at your place? ;)

Melbourne DrupalCon?

Well, if we can't get one in NZ then Melbourne would seem to be the next best place ;)

Cheers

It'd be great to have one

It'd be great to have one here (in NZ), but given the size of drupalcon's it would be hard to find the location, people and other resources for it to work here. I don't even know of an appropriate venue in NZ. (although I don't know AKL very well, so...)

post Webstock miniconf?

I assume any future DrupalCon Down Under (wherever it ends up) would attract less North Americans or Europeans purely from a travel distance point of view anyway, so might not need quite the same size facilities as the Boston or Barcelona events would. But it would probably still be quite a stretch to justify and/or organise an NZ event.

More realistically an Australasian miniconf as part of a future Webstock (eg Wellington 2010) would be pretty cool. Or if LCA comes back to NZ - Due to circumstances I missed both LCA Dunedin and the previous Webstock unfortunately.

Or maybe with the help of Silverstripe (and any O'Reilly or Google friends they have) get an open source CMS conference happening down under?

Cost of Lullabot training in Melbourne

Does anyone know whether the price of workshops is GST inclusive?
I've tried contacting Lullabot via their Contact form but have not got response yet.
